So after talking, Charlie and I pretty much have everything hashed out for what we want. NOW comes the making of everything. In case you missed it, I'm a total DIY kind of girl. I have to make about 600 roses, 50 invitations, enough food to feed south east Alabama for a week, and every other decoration we're going to have.
I think I'm going to get started with the supplies I have here already which means... invitations! (maybe some paper roses, because I do have some coffee filters already.)
You can see how I did it on my blog here at Paper Junkie designs I'm making these in cream this time, though. Maybe some brown "natural" color -because I can also get the natural in bulk at Sams club. The white for what I'll need I have to order off of Amazon. We'll see. :)
Well, I'm off to scout pinterest and some other DIY blogs!

294 days until our wedding!
So, the date has been set- it's a definite for October 18th. Yes, I'm pregnant... again.
I'm "due" (MAN I hate that word!) April 15th. So, I have 6 months to drop some weight after the baby's born and kick some butt to get everything done! I'm prepping most everything before though.
DIY bride all the way!
So, yeah- I've narrowed it down to burlap and lace (with red accents). Our colors are tan/cream brown and red. Very rustic, very country and so very us!
Budget is still the same, but I'm going to see if I can do it on less than half! After all, we're just throwing a party; we've been married for a while.
Things I'm doing myself:
venue (our house with an enormous back yard)
invitations,
dress (mine, maids and my girls.)
food (making all appetizers and drinks as well as... shhh! wine!)
cake (actually doing cupcakes. Easier and prefer the portability of it!)
decorations (hello! I'm SO DIY)
flowers- (it's a toss up between actual flowers or hand made burlap and lace. will decide later)
And that covers everything except the alcohol (we're bikers, what can I say?) photography (I'm a darned good photographer, but can't do that myself!) and my shoes. Other than that- we're totally rocking the awesomeness!!
Pictures and everything updated as I get them done!

yeah, let's try this wedding thing again...
So our plans to have a wedding on our 2nd anniversary fell through. Yeah, our 2nd anniversary fell on a Sunday, and it was crap. Well, not our love for each other- that's as strong as ever, but my wonderfully amazing MIL passed away on our anniversary. Gotta say, that's a date that will forever suck for us now. Oh, and I was 9 months pregnant with TWINS! Gotta tell you- when you ache so bad and are on bed rest and look like a beached whale, there's no way on God's green earth you were going to get me into a white wedding gown. I'd have looked like the sacred albino buffalo! NOT gonna happen.
SO, my hubster proposed an idea. He wants a cowboy/country themed wedding (holy mother of budgeteers, batman I can DO THAT!) and we're doing it October 18th, 2014.
My grand total: $5000
GAH! What's a bride to do? (Intro to fanfare) Hello Pinterest!
It's no secret that I'm a DIY, hands-on kind of girl. I will ALSO be a DIY hands-on kind of bride! 5 grand will be a piece of cake!
My problem will be this: having an affair with about 100 people, that will be not only fun, but not crossing the line to redneck chic. And when I mean redneck chic, I mean think of the most trailer trash wedding you can, with a touch of class. not my idea of a wedding.
Heather, why are you having one? You've been married for 2 1/2 years already. isn't it time to just move on?
NO!!!!!!!! I want pictures. I want to dance with my wonderful husband to a song he swears was written for us. I want my youngest sister to stand by my side as my MOH. I want my sons to walk me down the aisle and I want to do this in front of our friends and family. More friends than family.
So, with that said, I'm going to be working on my Save the Date designs and will post them when I get them done.
Bride on a budget!! Can't wait for this challenge!

We're having a weddin'... finally!
I adore my husband. We got married the day of my last post. March 25, 2010. it was kind of a "you wanna do it now?" kind of thing. well, I got pregnant 2 days after we got married and had our first son (together) Nathan.
He turns 2 months on the 14th. :)
So, barring getting pregnant again, we're having our wedding on our 2nd anniversary.
So, since I'm a total DIY kind of girl, I'm going to be posting things between this blog, my paper junkie blog, and my SSHD, and frugal blogs. :)
I'm excited to share my love for him with everyone, so we'll see. I'll keep posting to let everyone know what's going on.

our story
Once upon a time, there was a country boy who fell in love with a pinup. This is a short version of our story.
Charlie and I met in the summer of 2009 and hit it off right away!
In June, Charlie and I met at Saddle Ridge Country Club in hampton, VA. We were respectively separated at the time and we met as friends. That night was amazing! We walked along a beach and had one of those deep conversations that you can only have with someone you connect with. We walked back to my friend's apartment and he kissed me up against a lamppost at about 3:30 in the morning. The BEST kiss I'd ever had, and it was from this incredible man I've ever known.
Very quickly we hit it off! We became best friends within a few weeks, and have been insperable ever since! Spending several weekends in Busch Gardens, and even Water Country, USA. We've spent time in Williamsburg and in Virginia Beach. and
I moved to TN in late November after Charlie met my family for Thanksgiving and he and I continued to grow our relationship then through his divorce proceedings. In December he introduced me to his family in South Carolina. I went down his girlfriend and came back his future bride!
He proposed to me Christmas eve with the most beautiful words I had ever heard. (I will post them later if I have his permission).
Charlie has assumed the role of father to (my) our two wonderful children Zoe and Judah. They love Charlie so much, and he loves them, they are my family. They all make me so proud.
Charlie and I agree on just about everything. We believe that the husband is the head of the household where the wife is his helpmeet. I look forward every day to making his life as perfect as I can. He's the provider, I'm the heart of the home. :) It's how we think it should be. Espeically considering this is the way that God designed it. (not getting into a theological discussion here, just my personal belief.)
Well, very soon Charlie's job will be taking him away from me. He's in the army as a chinook (sp?) helicpoter mechanic and he'll be gone to Afganistan for a year. We are getting married before our "wedding"- where we celebrate with everyone.
Charlie and I are having our wedding on December 18th, 2010 while he's home on R&R. We plan to honeymoon in Disneyworld. (we'll see as it is so close to Christmas) I will post more updates when I get things underway, but that is a different story.

dress sewn
not as cute as I thought it would be, and I have to tweak it a little by taking in the waist and under the bust- apparently I'm a little skinner than previously thought!- and I'm digging it! It's cute, but on retrospect, the pattern of the fabric is a little busy. That's ok though. I will make a crinoline petticoat to go under it and fluff the skirt out a little more. I also have to hem the bottom and put in a hook and eye and then... DONE! WOOHOO. it's cute, and I think I might put on a sash/ belt maybe in a satin? We'll see. Well, this will be SUPER cute, and I can't wait.
Oh, and just in case you're wondering- no, we weren't able to get married on Friday. We couldn't get our license because of the divorce paperwork not being in. It's pissing me off, but we will get it done. grrr. just not when I want it!!! LOL.
patience. apparently it's a virtue.

Charlie's Divorce
WOOHOO! My man dropped 700 lbs today! His ex wife, her mother and their child (who despises my honey). Divorce has to be the best diet ever. That's ok though- the love of my life and I will officially tie the knot on friday (assuming paperwork is in order) or monday.
I'm excited. He came home all excited, and was almost vibrating with his joy. He loves me so much! I should have bought him flowers, but didn't think about it. Oh well, maybe on Friday I'll get myself some white roses or some cream colored ones to match my dress which I will be sewing tomorrow- I'm EXCITED about that! I'm making a retro dress to walk down the aisle in the first time. Well, I'm also making my dress for my wedding, but a small one for my civil ceremony. I'm going to be awesome! LOL.
Well, I'll post more on my dress in another blog update. :D I'll also post pictures.
happy sigh! Being in love rocks! :D
